Introducing Joanne Adams, Psychotherapist. MSc. UKCP Accredited Member.

I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered full clinical member of United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), The Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College and Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.

I adhere to the UKCP ethical framework for good practice and the UKCP Guidelines for Online Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am a registered member of the Information Commissioners Office, (ICO) and I follow GDPR data (2018) obligations and protect any personal information you may disclose to me. I work under the jurisdiction of the law in the UK.

I take regular breaks from practice for the purpose of CPD and self-care.

Experience

I have significant experience of working with vulnerable individuals, groups, and communities within the NHS, with charities and across the education sector. I have experience in working with addiction and trauma to include sexual and physical violence and torture. I have led multidisciplinary teams and held the position of University Head of Mental Health & Wellbeing leading on clinical services for a large student population. I also undertook the role of Clinical Manager and Acting Clinical Director for a UK national charity working with refugees and asylum seekers. I currently work with adults (18+) and offer integrative psychotherapy and, relationship therapy for couples.

Training

MSc Integrated Psychotherapy, Diploma in Couple’s Counselling and training on Suicide ASSIST, Mental Health First Aid and Online Therapy. I am also trained to bear witness to trauma and complex trauma and document my clinical observations for the purpose of commissioned Psychological Medico-Legal Reports, for court purposes. I am a qualified Coach and Mentor and hold a PG Diploma in Health Promotion and Public Health, alongside Prince2 Practitioner training.
